St. Peter Lutheran School Cheer and Drill Philosophy
The cheerleading program involves sixth through Eighth grade students.
Cheerleading and Drill are vehicles to teach our athletes Christian servant hood, leadership, goal-setting, integrity, unity, and pride in a job well done. The emphasis at every level is to give "Glory to God" through cheerleading. To further this goal the staff seeks to help each individual perform to the best of his or her ability and develop a Christ-like attitude of dignity and civility in all circumstances.
Cheer and drill instructors at every level seek to build school spirit and teach proper technique for the execution of clean cheerleading and drill moves. Students on the cheer and drill squads learn stunts, jumps, crowd leading chants and cheers, but come away with much more.
The St. Peter approach to this sport places the focus on the journey rather than the final product. Through cheerleading at St. Peter Lutheran, students are taught that they have a glorious opportunity to make an eternal impact on the lives of other athletes through encouragement and praise.
